Blackfoot River - Winter Fly Box

Fish the Blackfoot like you know it — because now you do.   The Blackfoot River Winter Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Blackfoot from December through March. The Blackfoot sees light pressure in winter and provides consistent midge fishing in the slower sections. The native trout fishery is worth protecting — practice catch and release.   This box is built around the Blackfoot's winter hatch calendar — midges. Every fly was chosen with nymphing slow runs with midge patterns in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering midge larvae, zebra midges, small soft hackles, and scuds. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: Focus on the long, slow runs in the lower Blackfoot in winter. Fish are stacked and feeding — find one and you'll likely find several.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Blackfoot or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
