BLACKBERRY JAM

Canning fresh fruits and vegetables have been apart of our families as far back as we can remember. Our families were great farmers and husbandry. Dating back to the Reconstruction Era both of our families lived and ate off of the land. The technique of canning of vegetable and fruits were passed down in our families for many generations. Especially, the canning of summer vegetables and fruits to be stored for winter use.  As a child black berries grew in the wild, and my sibling and I would pick black berries. My mother would create delicious recipes using black berries, one these recipes was black berry jam.
