Black Zonker Flame Egg

The Black Zonker – Flame Egg is a deadly combination of streamer and egg fly, designed to trigger aggressive strikes from trout, salmon, and steelhead. Its flowing black rabbit strip mimics the natural movement of a leech or baitfish, while the bright flame-colored egg adds a high-contrast hotspot that draws attention—even in stained or high water conditions. This pattern is especially productive during spawning season, when fish are keyed in on drifting eggs and opportunistically attacking nearby baitfish. The flame egg acts as both an attractor and a strike trigger, making this fly an ideal choice in egg-heavy systems or as a lead fly in a two-fly rig.
