I stayed to apprentice with an Irish mosaic artist for four years, working closely with her + a team of artists. With the absence of wet clay, the process was akin to drawing, with tile; line + color were primary considerations. My forever appreciation of formal abstraction is surprisingly satisfied by the complex relationships that come together on the surfaces + profiles of these pieces.
