Black Onyx Stone

This listing is for one larger Black Onyx Tumbled Stone with a perfectly smooth surface and full shape. The onyx stone has a deep and fascinating history that stretches back thousands of years, intertwined with myth, culture, and spiritual practice across many civilizations. The name "onyx" is derived from the Greek word onux, meaning "claw" or "fingernail." According to Greek mythology, the stone was created when Cupid clipped the fingernails of the goddess Venus while she slept. The clippings, scattered on the ground, were turned into stone by the Fates, resulting in the formation of onyx.  Over the centuries, onyx maintained its reputation as a protective and strengthening stone. It was associated with endurance, perseverance, and self-control. In crystal healing traditions, it is still regarded as a powerful stone for grounding and emotional balance. Associated with an increase in will power and endurance, Onyx is a stone that motivates from within and helps shield one from negative influences. A powerful stone emotionally, it heals old wounds and restores confidence in the future.
