Black Maple Hill Kentucky Bourbon Small Batch

The Legendary Red Label Immerse yourself in bourbon lore with the Black Maple Hill Kentucky Bourbon Small Batch, affectionately known among collectors as the iconic "Red Label." A proud feature of the Nestor Liquor Bourbon Heritage Collection, this No Age Statement (NAS) Kentucky Straight Bourbon represents an era of unparalleled sourcing and blending. Originally drawn from select, undisclosed Kentucky distilleries, these vintage bottlings have achieved near-mythic status due to their incredible rarity, historical significance, and the air of mystery surrounding their exact origins. Hand-bottled at a highly approachable 95 proof (47.5% ABV), this premium small batch expression is aged in select white oak casks. The result is a whiskey that defies expectations—opening with an invitingly sweet aroma before transitioning into a surprisingly robust, dry, and rye-forward palate. For serious connoisseurs and collectors, securing a bottle of the original Kentucky-sourced Red Label is a milestone achievement and a true testament to the golden age of independent bourbon bottling. Tasting Notes Nose: A brilliantly sweet and welcoming bouquet featuring bright orange citrus, honey, and vanilla bean, with faint traces of wet wood and toasted baking spices in the background. Palate: A fascinating and complex shift from the nose. The sweetness recedes to reveal a bold, drier profile dominated by cracked corn, deep oak, and a mid-palate surge of heavy rye spice. Finish: Brisk, warming, and highly satisfying. The finish leaves a clean, lingering trail of rye spice, seasoned oak, and a slow, comforting burn. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What does "Red Label" mean for Black Maple Hill? The "Red Label" refers to the red ink used on the label of this specific No Age Statement (NAS) small batch expression. It helps collectors differentiate this bottle from the older, age-stated releases (like the 11-year or 16-year) which traditionally featured different colored text, such as black or purple. Who actually distilled this bourbon? The original Black Maple Hill was produced by a Non-Distiller Producer (NDP) that sourced exceptional barrels from premium Kentucky distilleries. While the exact distillery of origin for the Red Label remains a closely guarded secret—and a favorite topic of debate among enthusiasts—it is widely celebrated for its classic Kentucky character. What is the proof of the Black Maple Hill Red Label? This limited-edition, handmade sour mash bourbon is expertly blended and hand-bottled at exactly 95 proof (47.5% ABV), offering a perfectly balanced sipping experience with minimal alcohol burn.
