In hot climates they may need shade and fresh water to be comfortable. Disease Resistance: The Black Japanese Bantam is generally healthy and disease resistant. But they do lay small white eggs consistently, they produce 100-150 eggs a year. Their egg production is moderate but steady. Seasonal Laying: Like most chickens egg production will slow down during winter months due to shorter daylight hours. But supplemental lighting in the coop can help maintain egg production throughout the year. Small White Eggs: The eggs they produce are small and white perfect for personal consumption or small households. While they are smaller than eggs from other prolific layers they are good quality.
