Black Dragon Power Cable

The Black Dragon Power Cable is a smooth, transparent-sounding cable with great dynamics that falls on the warm side of neutral. This cable has a full presentation that adds body and warmth to your music without making it sound laid back or lush. It utilizes 4x11 AWG ultra-pure, slow-drawn annealed and enamel-coated copper conductors that smooth out the top end while adding bottom-end weight, making the midrange sound more musical. It's a very flexible cable given the size of the conductors. Each strand acts as its own conductor due to the enamel coating, thus reducing skin effect. The Black Dragon Power Cable is a great cable for vocals and numerous music genres. Available in a variety of lengths and terminations. Quality You Can Trust Most stock power cables are made of small overall gauge conductors that work as a bottleneck for providing the raw power your equipment desires. Poor geometries, no shielding, rubber jackets, and a whole host of other issues with OEM cables can limit your system from performing its best. Of all the cables in your audio system, the shielding on your power cable is extremely critical. Power cable shielding is crucial for protecting against electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring signal integrity, and preventing damage to the cable and surrounding equipment. Shielding also plays a role in grounding and grounding fault detection. Here are some critical points to note on shielding: EMI Protection: Shields act as a barrier against external and internal EMI, preventing interference with other cables and devices. Signal Integrity: Shielding helps maintain the quality of the signal transmitted through the cable, preventing signal degradation. Safety: Shields can help reduce the risk of shock hazards and provide a path for stray currents in case of faults. Grounding: Properly grounded shields can help prevent the buildup of static charge and provide a path for leakage current to ground, reducing the risk of shock. Mechanical Protection: Shields can also offer some degree of mechanical protection to the cable core, preventing damage from sharp objects or physical stress. Return Path: In some applications, the shield can serve as a return path for the signal, improving the overall performance of the system.  Dragon Cables are handcrafted from quality materials in Moon Audio's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. All of our cables are created with ultra-pure, single-crystal silver and copper strands and engineered to provide the cleanest, most musical presentation. Our wire is void of impurities and crystalline boundaries, leaving nothing between you and your music. Black Dragon Sound Signature The Black Dragon is our top-of-the-line flagship cable designed to increase musicality and provide a warmer tonality with amazing bass performance. Copper strands increase the boldness by providing more slam and attack. It smooths out and provides a more romantic sound signature. A great way to get lost in the music. The Black Dragon pairs well with all genres, especially Classical, Blues, Rock & Roll, R&B, and anything with a toe-tapping beat like EDM and Dance music. That being said, the Black Dragon can be paired with many other genres as well. If you love to get lost in the music and want to feel like you are at the performance, then this is the cable for you. Are your headphones a little thin-sounding and need more meat on the bones? Give the Black Dragon a try. Hear those subsonic frequencies like never before. Black Dragon Cable Design The Black Dragon Power Cable's geometry has been developed to create a noise-free environment. 4x11 AWG Stranded high-purity slow-drawn Copper conductors are used per cable in a star Quad configuration. Each conductor is made up of a special selection of stranding sizes: 2 conductors for the positive and 2 conductors for the negative. This yields an 8 AWG total size per signal polarity. All the conductors are wrapped in Teflon tape, which is the next best dielectric after Air. Teflon tape is a way to reduce the overall thickness of the casing to reduce the dielectric value. The 4 conductors are then twisted together and Teflon taped as well. The Black Dragon Power Cable has a single 100% coverage shield but can be doubled up for noisy environments, plus it is relatively flexible. The cable is covered in 2 layers of Techflex braiding for added protection and good looks. The male outlet used is a Furutech gold-plated 15A/125V 3-PRONG PLUG Black plug that is Alpha Copper-based with a 24 karat gold plating. The female IEC outlet is the Furutech gold-plated 15A/125V 3-PRONG PLUG Black plug that is Alpha Copper based with a 24 karat gold plating. The Black Dragon Power Cable is dead quiet and rejects all EMI and RFI interference. The cable is good for a 15 and 20-amp rating. 20 Amp versions come with the Furutech gold-plated 20A/125V 3-PRONG PLUG Black plug that is Alpha Copper based with a 24 karat gold plating. We also stock Schuko and UK Furutech Plugs as well as an upgrade path to the Top Line Furutech Plugs. Don't know whether you have a 15 or 20 amp IEC on your electronic piece? See images below to help guide you. What is UP-OCC? UP-OCC stands for Ultra-Pure Ohno Continuous Casting (OCC). This is not a material, but a way of extruding silver and copper to prevent any impurities and fractures in the crystalline structure of the wire. The wire is drawn very slowly to cast as an almost perfect single crystal small-diameter conductor. The resulting purity and the size of the cast wire make a tremendous difference and there is less damage to the near-perfect cast state. We find this UP-OCC process produces a very clean and close to neutral sound in our copper-based and silver-based cables.
