Black Diamond W Distance Wind Shell

An ultralight wind and weather shell for women trail runners, ski tourers, and alpine climbers who need a packable layer that lives in a vest pocket without adding noticeable weight to the system, the Black Diamond Women's Distance Wind Shell uses 15D nylon ripstop with EMPEL PFC-free DWR treatment permanently fused into the fabric fiber for water repellency that does not require spray-on refreshing. At 98g, it fits into a chalk bag or running vest pocket and deploys in seconds when a ridge crossing drops temperature or wind speed suddenly. The helmet-compatible hood and adjustable hem seal the fit against wind without requiring a full shell cinch-down on every layer transition. For athletes who run warm on the climb and need protection only at summit exposure or storm edges, the Women's Distance Wind Shell provides exactly the right amount of coverage at a weight that justifies carrying it everywhere.
