Bitterroot River - Summer Fly Box

Fish the Bitterroot like you know it — because now you do.   The Bitterroot River Summer Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Bitterroot from June through August. Summer on the Bitterroot is classic Montana dry fly fishing. Caddis and PMD hatches are reliable throughout the drainage, and hopper fishing along the grassy valley banks is outstanding from late July through August.   This box is built around the Bitterroot's summer hatch calendar — caddis, PMDs, golden stoneflies, and grasshoppers. Every fly was chosen with dry fly fishing and hopper-dropper rigs along the banks in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering elk hair caddis, PMD dries, golden stone patterns, and large hopper imitations. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: The upper Bitterroot above Hamilton offers excellent wading access and less pressure than the lower river in summer. Native cutthroat are the primary target up high — they eat dry flies aggressively.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Bitterroot or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
