Bitterroot River - Spring Fly Box

Fish the Bitterroot like you know it — because now you do.   The Bitterroot River Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Bitterroot from April through early June. Spring on the Bitterroot brings rising flows as snowmelt pours off the Bitterroot Range. Fish push to the edges and back channels, and nymphing produces well through May as the river clears and hatches begin.   This box is built around the Bitterroot's spring hatch calendar — midges, blue-winged olives, and early skwala stoneflies. Every fly was chosen with nymphing slower water and back channels with weighted rigs in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering stonefly nymphs, BWO emergers, midge patterns, and small soft hackles. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: Skwala stoneflies emerge on the Bitterroot earlier than most rivers — watch for them on warm March and April afternoons. It's one of the first dry fly opportunities of the Montana season.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Bitterroot or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
