Bit of Everything (Flute and Electronics)

PROGRAM NOTE Bit of Everything was written as a sort of homage to some of the many musical genres that I adore. There is an improvisational spirit to the flute line that is somewhat jazz influenced, while the electronic track incorporates minimalism and Latin styles. The piece has a fun 5/4 groove, calling for the flutist to take on different characters and at times weave in and out of backing track texture. — Allison Loggins-Hull PERFORMANCE NOTES The flute should be slightly amplified in performance, in order to achieve a sonic balance with the electronic track. A monitor speaker is necessary for the performer to easily coordinate with the electronic track. The entire piece is metered. Electronic track cues are in small notation. A practice track with metronome has been included in the accompanying materials for rehearsal purposes. Timings for the electronic track are indicated at rehearsal letters in the score for rehearsal purposes.
