Birch Bark and Birds Tile

Originally painted in 2005,Birch Bark &Birdsshows three nuthatches playing amongst birch trees, a common setting for many of Charley Harper's pieces. The nuthatches provide a touch of color and energy to the forest scene while the birch trees display the simple, geometric beauty that Harper found in all aspects of nature. This 8x8 tile's playful scene and intricate design make this a must have for all Motawi fans. Mid-century modern meets Motawi mastery in these tiles based on the work of celebrated wildlife artist Charley Harper (1922-2007), a self-described "minimal realist." Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents. Each one is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
