BioGuard Zero Phos | Pool Phosphate Remover

BioGuard Zero Phos is a concentrated phosphate remover that brings elevated phosphate levels back down to an acceptable range in as little as 24 hours. It's the corrective tool for pools where phosphates have already accumulated — not a weekly maintenance product. Phosphates are the nutrient algae depends on to grow, and they're invisible. They don't cloud the water, they don't show up on a standard test strip, and no amount of sanitizer destroys them. They enter constantly from rain, irrigation runoff carrying lawn fertilizer, decaying leaves and grass, swimmer waste, and in some regions from the source water itself. And they accumulate — nothing removes them except a product designed to do exactly that. What makes them dangerous is what happens when your sanitizer dips. A maintained chlorine residual holds algae back no matter how much food is present, so a rising phosphate level goes completely unnoticed through the good weeks. Then comes a hot stretch, a heavy weekend, a rainstorm, or a few days away, and the residual falls. A pool with low phosphates recovers quietly. A pool sitting on a large phosphate reserve goes green fast, because the algae has everything it needs the moment the guard drops. That's the pattern behind pools that seem to bloom "out of nowhere" every summer despite decent maintenance. Zero Phos removes the fuel. Dosing is matched to your actual test reading rather than a fixed rate, which matters on a product like this — under-dosing leaves the problem in place and over-dosing wastes money and loads your filter. A 1-quart bottle handles a 20,000-gallon pool at the heaviest correction level, and a follow-up test is part of the process, not an optional extra. Pro Tip: You cannot use this product correctly without a phosphate test, because the entire dose structure is keyed to your reading — 4 oz, 8 oz, and 32 oz per 20,000 gallons are wildly different amounts, and guessing means either pouring most of a bottle down the drain or under-treating and seeing no result. Most specialty dealers test phosphates as part of a full water analysis. Get the number first, dose to it, then retest 48 hours later to confirm you actually landed in range. If you've been fighting recurring algae with no obvious cause, this one test explains it more often than anything else on the panel. Brand BioGuard®
