Bio-Char Raw – Biochar Soil Amendment

Stable Carbon Amendment for Healthier Soil, Stronger Roots & Improved Nutrient Retention Bio-Char Raw from The Soil Makers is a premium biochar soil amendment designed to improve soil structure, enhance microbial activity, and increase long-term soil fertility. Biochar introduces a stable carbon matrix into soil and growing media, helping create a more resilient soil ecosystem that supports beneficial microbes and improves nutrient efficiency. Its highly porous structure provides ideal habitat for soil microorganisms while improving aeration, drainage, and root penetration. This natural carbon-based amendment also helps retain nutrients and moisture within the root zone, reducing nutrient leaching and improving the efficiency of fertilizers and organic soil amendments. Bio-Char Raw is widely used in living soil systems, nurseries, container gardens, raised beds, and large-scale cultivation operations where soil health and biological activity are critical to long-term productivity. When combined with compost, biochar can help create a stable and biologically active soil environment that supports steady plant growth and improved soil performance over time. Key Benefits Introduces stable carbon to improve soil health and structure Improves soil aeration and drainage Enhances nutrient retention and reduces leaching Supports beneficial microbes and soil biodiversity Helps improve moisture retention in soils and media Encourages a healthy soil food web and long-term soil fertility Soil Performance Benefits Soil Structure Improvement Acts as a natural bulking agent that helps break up compacted soils and improve root penetration. Microbial Habitat The porous structure creates ideal homes for beneficial microbes, improving nutrient cycling and soil biology. Nutrient Retention Helps hold nutrients within the root zone where plants can access them, increasing fertilizer efficiency. Environmental Benefits Biochar helps stabilize soil carbon and can support farming systems working to reduce nutrient losses. Best Uses Living organic soil systems Container gardens and raised beds Nurseries and specialty crops Soil rebuilding programs Compost and soil blend enhancement How to Use Mix Bio-Char Raw into soil or potting media at the beginning of a growing cycle. For best results, combine with finished compost to create a nutrient-rich, biologically active soil foundation. The porous carbon matrix helps retain moisture and nutrients while supporting beneficial microbial populations.
