Check updated Info regarding Departures here: What time do I need to arrive ? – Balearia Caribbean Information about Fort Lauderdale - Bimini ferry route Average travel time 2h Port of departure Fort Lauderdale - 2021 Eller Drive, Terminal 21 Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 | Our terminal number may vary. Please call us for more details at +1 (866) 699-6988. Port of arrival Bimini - Fisherman's Village, Bimini Bay, North Bimini, Bahamas Distance 51 miles Great Hammerhead Itinerary Daily space is limited to 14 lucky guests who will experience these elusive giants up close! Exact departure and arrival times will be chosen by the captain and are dependent on weather and tides, below is the typical itinerary. Arrive by 7 am for 9 am Departure from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini Big Game Club Fuel Dock (Check-in open from 6-8 am) Welcome to Hammer Headquarters! Guests should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Drinking water will be provided on board, but we strongly recommend bringing along snacks and/or lunch.  Once you arrive at Bimini around 11am, you will go through customs and take a quick 10 minute taxi ride to the Dive Center.  Arrive at Hammerhead Grounds in Bimini by 1:30pm After anchoring up at Hammer Headquarters, we will begin to set-up for the dive, this includes baiting the water. Once set-up is complete, it's time to start looking for sharks! This process can take anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours. Once we attract a Great Hammerhead and they are comfortable, divers will be invited to enter the water. The dive is in approximately 20 feet of water so our tanks will last a long time! Once you're out of air and because the bottom time is so long, we suggest going up, getting some food and resting before going down again. However, you're always welcome to dive, dive, dive! Keep in mind, average water temperature during Hammerhead season is around mid to low 70s, thus we always recommend a full 5mm wetsuit, hood and gloves. Return to Bimini Big Game Club Around 5pm We always dive until we’re either out of bait, tanks and/or sunlight - whichever happens first!  Once we're done diving, we will head back to the Diving Center, get changed and take a taxi back to the port.  Depart for Fort Lauderdale at 6pm Board the ferry back to Fort Lauderdale, arrive around 8pm, go through customs and reminisce on what an awesome adventure you had! Cancellation Policy Please note, ferry tickets are non-refundable. If you need to change the date, no less than 2 days prior to the trip, there is a fee of $75 per person for the ferry change of date. If weather is not cooperating, you will get a ferry credit for life to repeat the dive. No credit for the ferry if not rescheduled as per above terms. We highly recommend purchasing DAN Trip Cancellation Insurance for all our Bimini activities and dive packages offered. This insurance is backed by DAN & TravelGuard and pays in the event of your trip being cancelled or delayed due to weather, airlines and a host of other reasons.
