Why This Goat Mineral Buffet Feeder Works Free-choice mineral programs work best when goats have an available selection of all the minerals in a place that keeps them clean, separated, and dry. Protects minerals from rain, wind, and contamination Allows multiple animals to eat at the same time Supports full free-choice mineral programs Easy to refill without removing individual bins Built with materials selected for long-term outdoor use This feeder is made for producers who want a reliable mineral setup without unnecessary complexity. How the Feeder Is Used The Billy Goat Buffet is accessible from both sides, allowing goats and sheep to feed naturally and simultaneously. Animals can access minerals from either side of the feeder Overhanging rubber flaps protect minerals from the elements while allowing easy access Multiple animals can feed at once without crowding The layout supports natural free-choice behavior while keeping minerals cleaner and better contained. Refilling Made Simple Refilling the feeder is fast and straightforward. The roof lifts open from the front All mineral compartments are accessible at once Minerals can be poured directly into the compartments No need to remove bins individually Once closed, the roof secures the compartments and protects minerals from weather. Mineral Compartments The Billy Goat Buffet includes 21 mineral compartments, allowing a full free-choice mineral program to be offered in one feeder. As a general guideline, each compartment holds approximately 2 pounds of loose mineral, depending on mineral type and fill level. For a feeder of this size, we recommend starting with at least 2 pounds of each mineral and adjusting based on intake.
