Big Timber Blend

Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters' Big Timber Blend takes the post-roast blending approach to stunning effect, combining high-grown Indonesian and Latin American coffees that are each roasted individually to develop their distinct characteristics before being brought together. The result is a blend with captivating complexity: creamy chocolate and bright citrus notes layered over the rich, smoky depth of Evans Brothers' signature darker roast. Named after the legendary double-black-diamond run at Schweitzer Mountain Resort—a steep, tree-lined descent that rewards experienced skiers with an adrenaline-fueled rush—this blend captures that same bold, exhilarating spirit in every cup. Tasting NotesBig Timber opens with creamy chocolate richness that immediately coats the palate, followed by unexpected bright citrus undertones that lift and energize the profile. The finish brings the signature smoky depth of Evans Brothers' darker roast components, creating a long, warming tail that lingers pleasantly. The body is substantial and velvety, with moderate acidity that keeps the cup lively without overwhelming the chocolate-forward sweetness. Think dark cocoa, candied orange peel, and smoldering cedar. Brew MethodsThis versatile blend shines across multiple brewing methods. As espresso, Big Timber delivers thick crema and syrupy body with chocolate dominating the shot and citrus emerging in the aftertaste. French press amplifies the creamy texture and smoky notes, making for a bold morning cup. Pour over methods like V60 or Chemex bring the citrus brightness forward while maintaining chocolate sweetness, revealing the blend's surprising clarity and complexity. Drip brewers handle it beautifully for everyday drinking, offering consistent chocolate-smoke character. About the RoasterEvans Brothers Coffee Roasters, based in the Pacific Northwest, has built their reputation on meticulous post-roast blending—a technique that allows each origin to be developed to its full potential before combining, rather than the more common practice of blending green beans before roasting.
