Big Hole River - Spring Fly Box

Fish the Big Hole like you know it — because now you do.   The Big Hole River Spring Fly Box is hand-curated specifically for the conditions, hatches, and trout behavior you'll encounter on the Big Hole from April through early June. Spring on the Big Hole builds toward one of the most anticipated events in Montana fly fishing — the salmonfly hatch. Pre-hatch nymphing can be exceptional as fish feed aggressively.   This box is built around the Big Hole's spring hatch calendar — early stoneflies, blue-winged olives, and midges. Every fly was chosen with deep nymphing before the hatch and dry fly fishing as conditions improve in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering large stonefly nymphs, BWO dries, midge patterns, and early caddis. No filler. No patterns that don't belong on this river in this season.   Pro tip from the water: Fish big stonefly nymphs in April and early May. The fish know the salmonflies are coming and are keyed in on large food.   Whether you're making your first trip to the Big Hole or you fish it every season, this box gives you a proven starting lineup so you can spend more time fishing and less time digging through bins at the fly shop.   Includes a quality waterproof fly box. All flies are hand-tied to Bozeman FlyWorks standards — the same quality we'd put on our own lines.
