Big Bird

Big Bird | Turquoise Horse & Bird of Paradise Original Painting  24" x 24" | Original Acrylic Painting on Canvas A turquoise horse pauses among oversized bird of paradise blooms, creating a scene that feels both familiar and dreamlike. Big Bird began with a simple moment—watching my horse reach down to nibble a thistle during a walk. While the thistle never quite found its place in the composition, it inspired the gesture that became the heart of the painting. Replacing it with towering bird of paradise flowers transformed the scene into something more whimsical, inviting the viewer into a landscape shaped as much by memory as imagination. Painted in vibrant layers of turquoise, deep greens, and a warm blush sky, this original acrylic painting celebrates the wonder of slowing down to notice the small moments that often become our favorite memories. The oversized tropical blooms lend a storybook quality while the horse's gentle posture evokes curiosity, peace, and connection with the natural world. Rich texture, expressive brushwork, and saturated color make Big Bird a striking statement piece for collectors who love colorful contemporary landscapes, horses, and artwork that blurs the line between reality and imagination.
