BH Olive WD-40

BH Olive WD-40 — Tiny Fly, Big Attitude Small in size, huge in credibility. The BH Olive WD-40 is built to fool picky trout that swear they only eat the most delicate of insects — and to make you feel like a fishing wizard while you shrug and tie another dropper. Made for the stealthy dry-fly angler, stream rat, or weekend renegade who prefers subtlety over showboating. This is for people who appreciate precision: realistic imitation, versatile color options, and sizes that match what the river’s actually serving. AXG Life: Life, Adventure-Ready — even when your adventure is convincing trout that dinner just flew in. Key Features & Design Imitates: Small Baetis / Blue Wing Olive or midge — the picky insect buffet trout can't resist. Original pattern: Tied originally with a gray body/thorax, but adaptable to different looks. Color options: Commonly tied in olive (our favorite), but also works in chocolate, black, tan, and red. Sizes: Available in #12 through #20 to match hatch scale and fish mood swings. Performance & Benefits This little pattern punches above its weight. The BH Olive WD-40 mimics the silhouette and profile of tiny mayflies and midges, making it perfect for picky trout on clear-water days. The range of sizes (#12–#20) lets you match exact hatches, while the color flexibility means you can adapt on-the-fly — literally. Whether you're fishing slow tails, riffles, or sipping pools, this fly helps you land more takes without overcomplicating the rig. It’s subtle enough for wary fish, effective enough to keep you calling the shots, and durable enough to survive a handful of near-misses and triumphant pulls. Turns stuck weekends into hero stories, and is built for midnight trail runs and questionable decisions — at least when those decisions involve rivers. Why you’ll reach for it Realistic appearance convinces selective trout. Multiple size and color options let you match hatches quickly. Simple, dependable pattern that fits into any fly box without drama. Go ahead — add the BH Olive WD-40 to your kit, toss it in your vest, and make your next riffle story worth telling.
