Between Storms

Original Oil Painting by Danny Vasquez Dark clouds stretch across the sky, casting their shadow over the restless sea below. The atmosphere feels heavy, as if a storm has just passed, or another is quietly gathering beyond the horizon. Between Storms reflects the spaces in life where we find ourselves waiting in the tension between trials. These are the moments when the waves have not yet fully settled and the sky has not yet cleared. Yet even here, there is a quiet steadiness in the horizon and a reminder that God remains present through it all. Painted with expressive brushwork and layered tones of deep blues and soft grays, this piece explores the beauty and gravity of uncertain moments. The shifting sky and moving water speak to the reality of life’s storms, while the open horizon suggests endurance, faith, and the promise that peace will come again. Between Storms is a meditation on perseverance and the faith that carries us through every rising wave and every gathering cloud. This piece is part of the Persistence of Light series exploring faith, perseverance, and the quiet ways light breaks through even the darkest skies. This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting. It will not be reproduced. Once it finds its home, it is gone.
