Sometimes the fish want something small, light, and natural. The problem is getting it out there. The Betts Torpedo Float Casting Egg gives you the casting weight you need to throw flies, unweighted soft plastics, live bait, dead bait, and other lightweight presentations with conventional spinning tackle. At 3/8 oz. and approximately 2-1/2 inches long, it adds enough weight to help reach feeding fish without turning your presentation into a hardware store. It’s especially handy when a fly is exactly what the fish want—but your fly rod is sitting at home wondering why you abandoned it. Rig the casting egg into your setup and you can deliver lightweight flies with the spinning rod already in your hand. The clear plastic body keeps the float relatively unobtrusive in the water, making it a good choice when fish are feeding cautiously or when a more natural presentation matters. Betts also builds it from tough plastic designed to handle regular fishing abuse, because tackle that cracks the first time it gets bounced around a surf bag isn’t much help. Great for the surf, back bay, inlet, pond, lake, or anywhere else you need to put a lightweight offering farther than it wants to go on its own. Features: Adds casting weight for flies and other lightweight presentations Great for unweighted soft plastics Works with live and dead bait Lets you cast flies using light spinning tackle Clear plastic provides a more discreet presentation Tough plastic construction Weight: 3/8 oz. Length: approximately 2-1/2 inches A fly rod would work too. But then you’d have to go get it. WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm- www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
