Like having your own crafting Marauder’s Map, the screen helps guide you through each step so you can spend less time searching and more time stitching. Whether you are choosing a decorative stitch, preparing a magical embroidery design, or fine-tuning your project, the touchscreen keeps everything clear, organized, and easy to access. Quick Access Buttons The quick access buttons on the b79HP are thoughtfully placed to keep your most-used controls within easy reach. Dedicated buttons for Quick Reverse, Thread Cutter, Presser Foot Up/Down, Start/Stop, Speed Control, Securing Stitches, and Needle Up/Down make everyday adjustments fast, simple, and intuitive. Two multi-function knobs work together with the Needle Left/Right controls to give you precise, hands-on control over your settings. Easily fine-tune stitch width, stitch length, and needle placement for accurate results across sewing, quilting, decorative stitching, and finishing details. This smart combination of buttons and knobs creates a comfortable, efficient workflow that feels approachable for beginners while giving experienced sewists the responsive control they expect. Stitch Designer Stitch Designer on the bernette 79 Harry Potter LE lets you conjure up decorative stitches that are completely your own. Instead of relying only on built-in stitch options, you can create and customize unique stitch patterns directly on the machine by adjusting stitch points, lengths, and widths. It is like writing your own sewing spell—one that adds personal, one-of-a-kind detail. Using the touchscreen and multi-function knobs, Stitch Designer is easy to navigate, even if you are new to customizing stitches. Design a subtle accent for a seam, create a bold decorative border, or dream up a signature stitch worthy of your own Hogwarts house. Once your custom stitch is just right, you can save it for future projects and build a personal library of designs. With Stitch Designer, your imagination does not have to stay on the page; it can be stitched beautifully into every magical project you make. Back-Kick Function The programmable foot control with back-kick function brings a bit of wand-like control to your sewing setup. With a simple tap of your heel, you can activate assigned functions such as needle up/down, securing stitches, or thread cutting without taking your hands off your fabric. It is a clever, hands-free way to keep your creative momentum moving. The back-kick function lets you customize the machine to match the way you like to sew. Instead of pausing to press a button, you can stay focused on guiding your project while the machine handles key actions quickly and smoothly. This added convenience makes your workflow feel more natural, more efficient, and just a little more magical. Needle Threader Threading the needle feels a little less like a tricky charm and a little more like magic with the semi-automatic needle threader on the b79HP. With just a few simple steps, the machine helps guide the thread cleanly through the needle eye, saving time, reducing eye strain, and keeping your creative momentum moving. Bobbin Winding Bobbin winding on the b79HP is quick, simple, and ready whenever inspiration strikes—no trip to Madam Malkin’s required. The easy-to-use bobbin winding system helps you wind bobbins smoothly and evenly in just moments, so your thread is prepared for clean, balanced stitches. 4 LED Sewing Lights Lumos! Bright LED sewing lights illuminate the workspace on the b79HP, casting clear, even light across your fabric. Strategically positioned around the needle area, these lights help reduce shadows and improve visibility, making it simpler to follow seam lines, view fabric textures, and place stitches with precision. Eco Mode Eco Mode helps conserve energy when your sewing or embroidery pauses, displaying a charming sleeping Hedwig on the color touchscreen. When you are ready to return to your project, simply tap Hedwig to wake the machine and continue stitching. Included Embroidery Hoops & Hoop Detection With multiple hoop sizes included, you can easily switch between smaller designs for garments and accessories and larger motifs for quilts, bags, and home décor. Each hoop is designed to hold fabric securely and evenly, helping maintain consistent stitch quality while reducing shifting or puckering during embroidery. To make setup even easier, the b79HP features automatic hoop recognition, which instantly detects the hoop size once it’s attached to the machine. This smart feature ensures your design stays within the embroidery area preventing accidental stitching outside the hoop’s boundaries. Together, the included hoops and automatic detection system streamline the embroidery process. Spacious Sewing/Embroidery Area The bernette 79 Harry Potter LE gives you a generous 9" of space to the right of the needle, giving larger projects room to move smoothly as you sew, quilt, or embroider. This extra workspace is especially helpful when guiding bulky fabrics, piecing quilts, finishing costumes, or adding magical details to bags, robes, and home décor. Whether you are working on a cozy common room quilt or a magical masterpiece inspired by the wizarding world, the spacious sewing area helps keep your fabric supported, controlled, and ready for every spellbinding stitch. Dual Feed The intergrated dual feed helps guide fabric evenly from both the top and bottom, giving you better control when sewing layers, slippery materials, or detailed seams. It is especially helpful for quilting, garment sewing, bags, costumes, and projects where matching seams or keeping fabric from shifting matters. Like a well-practiced spell, the dual feed keeps your fabric moving smoothly and consistently, helping every stitch land just where it should. Upper & Lower Thread Sensors The 79BEHP helps keep your project from going off course with upper and lower thread sensors that monitor both the needle thread and bobbin thread as you sew or embroider. Like a helpful bit of magic watching over your work, these sensors alert you when thread needs attention, helping prevent missed stitches, unfinished embroidery sections, or surprise bobbin runouts. Whether you are stitching a house-inspired keepsake, quilting a cozy throw, or embroidering magical details, this feature helps you stay focused and confident. Onboard Storage The bernette 79 Harry Potter LE includes convenient onboard storage to keep essential accessories organized and easy to reach while you sew. Store presser feet, bobbins, needles, and small tools right with the machine so your workspace stays tidy and your favorite notions are always close by. Like a well-packed trunk heading to Hogwarts, the built-in storage keeps everything in its place, ready for your next sewing spell, embroidery detail, or creative adventure. Optional Bernina CutWork Tool Expand your creative possibilities even further with the bernette 79s compatibility with the BERNINA CutWork Tool. This advanced accessory allows the b79 to go beyond traditional embroidery by precisely cutting shapes and patterns directly into fabric using the machine’s embroidery motion. Instead of stitching with thread, the CutWork Tool uses a small blade that rotates at multiple angles to create clean curves, sharp corners, and intricate cutouts with impressive accuracy. CutWork compatibility opens the door to a wide range of decorative techniques, including appliqué cutouts, lace-style designs, layered embellishments, and mixed-media projects. Because the cutting process is automated and guided by embroidery designs, results are consistent and repeatable—ideal for both detailed one-of-a-kind pieces and production-style projects.
