bernette 64 AIRLOCK Serger

The bernette 64 AIRLOCK Serger makes overlocking faster, easier, and more enjoyable with its automatic air threader that effortlessly threads the looper threads at the push of a button. Setup is quick and stress-free, while color-coded threading paths and automatic thread tension release when the presser foot is raised help keep adjustments simple and intuitive. Designed for comfort and versatility, the b64 features a freearm for sewing sleeves and cuffs, a large workspace to the right of the needle, and a slide-on table for added project support. Five bright LED lights clearly illuminate the sewing area, and the bernette Free Hand System (FHS) knee lifter lets you raise and lower the presser foot while keeping both hands on your fabric. With 16 stitch options, Micro Thread Control (MTC) for precise seam formation, and sewing speeds up to 1,300 stitches per minute, this serger delivers professional results efficiently. Practical details like stitch length adjustment while sewing, onboard accessory storage, and a built-in safety switch make the bernette 64 AIRLOCK Serger a reliable, user-friendly choice for confident overlocking. 2-, 3-, and 4-Thread Overlock Stitches The 2-, 3-, and 4-thread overlock stitches give you the flexibility to match the stitch to your fabric and technique. A 2-thread overlock is ideal for lightweight fabrics and decorative edge finishes, creating a clean, narrow seam with minimal bulk. The 3-thread overlock is a versatile everyday stitch, perfect for finishing raw edges, sewing knits, or creating neat, professional hems, a go-to option for garment construction and general serging. When durability is key, the 4-thread overlock combines a reinforced seam with an overcast edge, making it ideal for sewing and finishing seams in one step. Together, these stitch options allow you to adapt easily to different fabrics and projects while achieving strong, polished results. Micro Thread Control (MTC) Fine-tune the amount of looper thread used in the stitch, so your seam edges sit flat and clean without curling, tunneling, or loose loops. Whether you’re working with delicate fabrics, stretchy knits, or thicker materials, MTC makes it simple to adjust your stitch for a smooth, professional finish. Instead of rethreading or making multiple tension changes, you can dial in the ideal setting quickly and confidently, saving time while ensuring consistent, high-quality results across a wide range of projects. Automatic Air Threading With the push of a button, air is used to effortlessly pull the thread through the looper channels, eliminating the need for tweezers, hooks, or manual feeding through tight spaces. This time-saving feature is especially helpful when changing thread colors or switching between stitch types, letting you get back to sewing in seconds instead of minutes. Whether you’re new to serging or an experienced user, automatic air threading makes the entire process smoother, more reliable, and far more enjoyable. Color-Coded Thread Paths Each thread path is marked with a distinct color that guides you step by step through the correct threading sequence, reducing confusion and helping prevent mistakes during setup. This visual guidance is especially helpful when changing threads or switching stitch configurations, allowing you to rethread quickly and with confidence. Whether you’re new to serging or just want a faster, more streamlined setup, color-coded thread paths keep the process simple and stress-free. Free Hand System (FHS) Raise and lower the presser foot using the included knee lifter, keeping both hands free to guide your fabric. This hands-free control is especially helpful when working with bulky layers, long seams, or tricky fabrics that require steady positioning. By allowing quick, precise presser foot adjustments without reaching for the machine, the Free Hand System helps maintain smooth fabric flow and improves overall control. It’s a practical feature that boosts efficiency, comfort, and accuracy, making serging easier and more confident from start to finish. Freearm Sew narrow and tubular projects with precision and control. By removing the slide-on table, the freearm is exposed, allowing fabric to glide smoothly around the machine for clean, even stitching. This design is ideal for finishing sleeves, cuffs, pant legs, and other hard-to-reach areas that can be challenging on a flat surface. With the freearm, detailed serging tasks feel more manageable and accurate, helping you achieve professional results on garments of all sizes. Needle Pad Conveniently located, this small detail helps streamline your workflow by reducing interruptions and keeping your workspace organized. Whether you’re switching needle types or replacing a needle mid-project, the needle pad adds an extra layer of convenience. Presser Foot Lifter Quickly raise or lower the presser foot for threading, fabric placement, and seam adjustments. Designed for everyday efficiency, the presser foot lifter also works seamlessly with the Free Hand System, giving you flexible options for hands-on or hands-free operation. Stitch Length Setting Dial Fine-tune your seams to suit different fabrics and techniques. Lengthen or shorten stitches without stopping your workflow. This flexibility is useful when moving between lightweight and heavier materials or when refining the look of decorative and functional overlock stitches. Differential Feed Dial By adjusting the feed ratio, you can prevent stretching in knits, eliminate puckering in lightweight fabrics, or intentionally create gathers and ruffles when desired. This dial allows quick adjustments to match the fabric and technique, and helps you maintain high-quality results. Cut-Off Bin The cut-off bin on the bernette 64 AIRLOCK helps keep your sewing area clean and organized as you serge. It neatly collects trimmed fabric edges and thread tails while you sew, preventing scraps from building up around the machine or falling onto your workspace. Easy to attach and remove, the cut-off bin makes cleanup quick and convenient, especially during longer projects. It’s a practical feature that keeps your focus on stitching while maintaining a tidy, efficient sewing environment. Included Slide on Table The included slide-on table expands the work surface, providing extra support for larger or heavier projects. It helps keep fabric level as it moves through the machine, reducing drag and improving stitch consistency. Easy to attach and remove, the slide-on table is especially useful for garments, home décor, and long seams. When removed, it reveals the freearm for sewing smaller, tubular pieces, giving you flexibility for a wide range of serging tasks. 5 LED Sewing Lights The 5 LED sewing lightsprovide bright, even illumination across the entire sewing area. Strategically positioned to reduce shadows, they make it easier to see stitch formation, fabric edges, and thread paths with clarity. This enhanced lighting is especially helpful when working with dark fabrics, fine details. Thread Cutter | Foot Pressure The built-in thread cutter allows you to quickly trim thread tails without reaching for scissors. By adjusting the presser foot pressure to suit different fabric weights and textures, you can achieve smoother feeding and more consistent stitch quality, from delicate knits to thicker layered materials. Rolled Hem Selection With a simple adjustment, you can switch from standard overlocking to a rolled hem, allowing the fabric edge to roll neatly into the stitch for a fine, professional finish. This feature is ideal for lightweight fabrics, scarves, ruffles, and decorative edges where a delicate hem is desired. Cutting Width Dial Control how much fabric is trimmed as you serge. Fine-tune the balance between the knife and the stitch, ensuring clean, well-covered edges without excess fabric or loose threads. This flexibility is especially useful when working with different fabric weights or specialty techniques, allowing you to adapt quickly for consistent results. Air Threader Connector ON/OFF Take direct control over the automatic air threading system. With a simple switch, you can activate airflow to quickly pull thread through the looper channels, making threading fast, clean, and hassle-free. Turning the connector off when not in use helps maintain consistent air pressure and keeps the system operating smoothly. This on/off control adds reliability and predictability to the threading process, especially when changing thread colors or switching stitch configurations. OnBoard Storage The onboard storage on the bernette 64 AIRLOCK keeps essential accessories organized and within easy reach. Conveniently located under the looper cover, it provides a dedicated place to store tools and accessories you use most often, so everything is right where you need it. This built-in storage helps reduce clutter around your machine and minimizes interruptions during setup or stitch changes.
