Berlin 57 Daybed

This is a ‘Berlin 57’ Full-sized Daybed or Lounge, designed by Bruno Mathesson in 1957. This particular bed was produced in the 1960s by Firma Karl Mathsson in Sweden. The design made its debut at the Berlin International Building Exhibition in 1957, ergo… The legs are outstanding on this bed, with sophisticated joinery that only a Scandinavian could master. This bed measures 55 inches long, 79.75 inches wide, and 18.5 inches high at highest point. We have intentionally left this piece in its as-found condition to showcase its history. The corners show some scuffs and blemishes, and there are some scratches on the legs. Upon request, we can gladly facilitate refinishing for a modest additional fee. Currently, it has a terrific patina and presents beautifully. Please see photos.
