Bénédictine is a herbal liqueur that was developed by Alexandre Le Grand in 19th century France. The liqueur is flavored with over 27 flowers, roots, herbs and spices. According to various sources, the recipe of the liqueur was cultivated by a 16th century monk named Dom Bernardo Vincelli who was said to have dabbled in Alchemy. The recipe for Bénédictine was purportedly created to revive tired monks, and is for the most part a secret to the general public. In 1860, Le Grand found the manuscripts for the beverage and created Bénédictine. The liqueur began import to the United States in 1888 where it still remains a popular brand. In 1992, Benedictine was bought by Bacardi for 1.4 million. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is printed on heavyweight paper and in excellent condition.
