Beneath Gathering Skies

Original Oil Painting by Danny Vasquez Clouds gather and shift above the restless sea, their weight hinting at a storm that has not yet arrived. Light still breaks through in places, illuminating the water below, but the sky carries an awareness that something powerful is approaching. Beneath Gathering Skies reflects the moments in life when we sense that a difficult season may be ahead. These are the times when the heart begins to prepare, when faith is not about reacting to the storm but about trusting God before it even arrives. Painted with expressive, layered brushwork, the movement in the clouds and water captures that delicate space between peace and anticipation. The light filtering through the sky reminds us that even when trials are on the horizon, God’s sovereignty remains unchanged. Nothing that lies ahead is outside His care. This piece is a meditation on surrender and the quiet strength of entrusting the unknown to God and standing with steady faith beneath gathering skies. This piece is part of the Persistence of Light series exploring faith, perseverance, and the quiet ways light breaks through even the darkest skies. This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting. It will not be reproduced. Once it finds its home, it is gone.
