Benchmark 7-year Bourbon 1998

Unearth a classic piece of bourbon history with Benchmark Premium Bourbon 1998, a 7-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon. This 90-proof expression offers a delightful journey of caramel, vanilla, and baking spices, showcasing the impeccable craftsmanship of its era. A true connoisseur's delight, offering exceptional depth and character from a storied distillery. Tasting Notes Nose: A captivating initial wave of sweet caramel and vanilla bean, characteristic of well-aged bourbon. Underlying notes of dried apricot and a subtle hint of worn leather emerge, interwoven with a gentle rye spice and a whisper of toasted oak. Palate: The palate opens with a rich, velvety sweetness, echoing the caramel from the nose, now joined by a delicious dark brown sugar and maple syrup. A delightful interplay of baking spices – cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of clove – provides warmth and complexity. Mid-palate, delicate fruit notes like cherry and plum are present, balanced by a pleasant, slightly tannic oak influence and a nutty undertone. Finish: A medium-long, satisfying finish that gracefully fades. Sweet oak and vanilla linger, accompanied by a continuation of the baking spices and a final, lingering suggestion of dried fruit and a touch of roasted nuts. There's a pleasant warmth without harshness, leaving a clean and memorable impression.
