Bell’s Caprice

Bell’s Caprice New release for 2027. 1 tuber per customer. Flower type: Novelty / Ball / Informal Decorative / Anemone Bloom size: 4–6" Height: 5' Staking/support required: Yes Breeder’s Notes: Bell’s Caprice is one of the weirdest dahlias to come out of the breeding patch - and one that doesn’t really fit comfortably into any single form. Blooms range from peachy ball and informal decorative forms with an unexpected center of elongated anemone-style disc florets, to almost straight anemone blooms. Different forms can appear on the same plant at the same time, giving the impression that you’re growing more than one variety. Color is just as playful, with those jumping genes moving through peach, apricot, blush and warm yellow, with occasional irregular splashes of color inherited from its parent, Bell’s Sienna Rose. At around 5' tall with 4–6" blooms, it’s a substantial plant with flowers that seem to make up their own rules as they go. I don’t personally know of another dahlia quite like it. Caprice means a sudden or unpredictable change of mood - which felt like the perfect name for her.
