Natural Formulation Wax · Balms, Salves & Solid Body Care Organic Beeswax Pellets A versatile natural wax used by formulators, makers, and wellness enthusiasts to create balms, salves, lotion bars, massage bars, beard balms, cuticle products, and countless oil-based formulations. The convenient pellet form makes weighing and melting easier while providing structure, thickness, and a protective finish. Beeswax has served as a foundational ingredient in traditional apothecary and body-care preparations for generations. Structure, Firmness and Protective Texture Organic Beeswax Pellets add structure and firmness to oil-based balms, salves, lotion bars, massage bars, lip care, beard care, solid perfume, and protective body products. Small percentage changes can noticeably affect hardness, glide, payoff, and melting behavior, so evaluate the formula after it cools completely. Ingredient Cera Alba (Beeswax). Aroma & Color Mild natural honey-like aroma with a pale yellow to golden color. Texture Firm pellets that melt into a smooth liquid when gently heated. Primary Function Thickener, structuring wax, firmness enhancer, and protective agent. Ways to Use Beeswax Pellets Melt Beeswax with carrier oils, botanical butters, and other oil-soluble ingredients to create customized anhydrous body-care products. Balms & Salves Combine with infused or plain carrier oils to create targeted balms, salves, and protective body-care products. Lotion & Massage Bars Use with butters and liquid oils to create firm bars that soften gradually on warm skin. Beard & Grooming Care Add structure and control to beard balms, mustache waxes, pomades, and other grooming products. Lip & Cuticle Care Incorporate into properly developed lip balms, cuticle products, heel balms, and concentrated moisture treatments. How to Melt & Incorporate Beeswax requires more heat to melt than most botanical butters. Use controlled heat and avoid exposing delicate oils or essential oils to unnecessarily high temperatures. Step 01Measure by Weight Weigh the Beeswax, carrier oils, butters, and all remaining ingredients for consistent, repeatable results. Step 02Melt with the Oil Phase Place the Beeswax and heat-stable oil-phase ingredients in a double boiler or controlled water bath and heat until fully melted. Step 03Cool Before Adding Delicate Ingredients Remove from heat, allow the blend to cool appropriately, then add essential oils, antioxidants, and other heat-sensitive ingredients. For DIY Makers & Formulators Starting ranges are 5–12% for soft balms, 12–20% for medium-firm balms, 10–25% for lip balms, 15–30% for lotion or massage bars, 8–20% for beard balms, and 20–40% for mustache waxes or firm pomades. Melt in the oil phase and pair with liquid oils or butters to adjust glide and richness. Beeswax provides structure; it is not an emulsifier or preservative for water-containing products. Texture & Climate Considerations The firmness of a Beeswax formulation changes with temperature. A balm that feels ideal in a cool room may soften considerably during summer or feel firmer during winter. For a Softer Formula Reduce the Beeswax percentage Increase the liquid-oil phase Add a softer butter such as Shea Butter Use oils with lighter, more fluid textures Package in a jar rather than a push-up tube For a Firmer Formula Increase Beeswax gradually Add a firmer butter such as Cocoa Butter Reduce the liquid-oil phase Test the formula at warm room temperature Allow at least 24 hours before final evaluation Contains a Bee-Derived Ingredient Beeswax Is Not Vegan Beeswax is produced by honeybees and is therefore not considered a vegan ingredient. Customers and formulators seeking a vegan alternative may wish to explore plant-derived waxes such as candelilla, sunflower, rice bran, or carnauba wax, recognizing that each wax has different hardness and formulation requirements. Important Use & Safety Information For external cosmetic and formulation use only. Avoid direct contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Discontinue use if redness, itching, or irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Perform a patch test on the complete finished topical product before broader use. Individuals with known sensitivities to bee-derived ingredients should consult a qualified healthcare professional before topical use. Use care when melting and handling hot waxes, oils, and butters. Never leave melting wax unattended or expose it directly to an open flame. When adding essential oils, follow appropriate dermal limits and safety guidance for the intended user and application. Store tightly closed in a cool, dry location away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Please note: Natural variations in color and mild aroma may occur between batches. Beeswax pellets may soften or stick together during warm shipping conditions without affecting their intended formulation use.
