Bee Wayfinders for Mason Bees

Crown Bees Bee Wayfinders for Mason Bees Mason bees use visual cues to orient themselves and find their nests after emerging from their cocoons. To make it easier for females to relocate their nests, we’ve created Bee Wayfinders—bright, uniquely colored “signposts” that enhance their ability to navigate back to the right nesting hole. By adding these visual cues, we help ensure that bees can find their nesting sites with ease after foraging, promoting successful nest relocation and overall bee health. Key Features Easy Navigation: Bee Wayfinders act as visual "signposts," providing bees with additional cues to help them find their nesting holes. Optimized for Mason Bees: Designed to aid Mason bees, who rely on color combinations based on ultraviolet light, blue, and green, but cannot see red. Unique Bold Colors: Each Bee Wayfinder is a distinct, easy-to-spot color that bees can quickly recognize, based on their vision of yellow and orange hues. Reduces Nest Confusion: Helps prevent confusion in bee houses with multiple similar nesting holes, ensuring bees return to their nests with confidence. Made in the USA Why Bee Wayfinders Work After emerging from their cocoons, female Mason bees take an orientation flight to find a nesting site. During this flight, they memorize the area around them, learning landmarks and visual cues to help them navigate back to their nests. With large numbers of similar-looking nesting holes, bees may struggle to find the right hole, sometimes choosing a different location to nest. By introducing Bee Wayfinders, you give each nesting hole a unique visual signature that helps guide the female bees back to the correct hole after foraging.
