Bear Pro Foam Mattress

Bear Pro Foam Mattress A 12-inch all-foam mattress engineered around pressure relief. The Pro Foam is the all-foam mattress in Bear's Enhanced Support tier — built specifically for sleepers whose joints, hips, and shoulders need more cushioning than the Original delivers. Two extra inches of profile, an additional quilt foam layer at the surface, and the same gel swirl memory foam used in higher-tier Bear models. The result: deeper, slower contouring at the contact points where most pressure builds up, with the structural support of a high-density foam foundation underneath. The construction is straightforward. A Celliant® infrared cover sits at the top — same recovery technology used across Bear's lineup, FDA-classified as a general wellness device. Below the cover, an extra quilt foam layer adds plush surface cushioning that wraps around the joints on first contact. A gel-infused swirl memory foam layer contours to your shoulders, hips, and lower back while drawing heat away from the body. Beneath that, responsive comfort foam buffers between the memory foam and the base, preventing the "sinking" feel that plagues cheaper all-foam beds. Five inches of high-density foundation foam carry the load and resist the sagging that develops over years of use. Firmness sits at 6.5 to 7 out of 10 — medium-firm — the same range as the Bear Original but with more cushioning at the surface from the additional quilt foam. Best for side sleepers and couples who want an all-foam feel with stronger pressure relief than the Original. GREENGUARD Gold Certified. CertiPUR-US foam. Fiberglass-free. The Pro Foam was built to push pressure relief further than the Bear Original — same recovery technology, same support foundation, with deeper contouring foam at the surface where most pressure builds up. ♨️ Celliant® Infrared Cover A cover fabric woven with mineral-infused fibers that absorb body heat and re-emit it as infrared energy — the same wavelength range used in clinical recovery therapy. Celliant is classified by the FDA as a medical device under section 201(h) of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and as a general wellness product. Same Sleep Recovery Technology built into the entire Bear lineup. Infrared · FDA General Wellness 🛌 Enhanced Pressure Relief System Two contouring foam layers working together. Extra quilt foam at the surface provides plush cushioning that wraps around joints immediately on contact — soft enough to relieve tension, deep enough that you don't feel the firmer layers below. Underneath, gel-infused swirl memory foam contours to the body's curves while drawing heat away through gel beads embedded in the foam. Extra Quilt Foam · Gel Memory 🏗️ High-Density Foundation Five inches of high-density base foam — the layer responsible for keeping the mattress flat and structurally sound over years of use. Cheap base foam compresses unevenly and creates body-shaped impressions; the Pro Foam's high-density foundation resists that pattern and holds the comfort layers above in proper alignment. Backed by the limited lifetime warranty. 5" Base · Sag Resistance What This Mattress Actually Does The outcomes the design is built around. The Pro Foam was designed for one main job: deeper, more thorough pressure relief than the Bear Original. The Pro Foam shares a similar architecture with the Bear Original but adds depth at the surface — extra quilt foam for surface cushioning and a thicker overall comfort system designed for sleepers who need more pressure relief than the Original delivers. ♨️ Layer One Quilted Celliant® Infrared Cover The top of the mattress is a quilted cover woven with Celliant fibers — minerals that absorb body heat and re-emit it as infrared energy in the 5–20 micron wavelength range. The FDA classifies Celliant products as medical devices and general wellness products. The cover itself is plush and protective; the mechanism it brings is what's distinctive — body warmth that would otherwise dissipate gets redirected back at your body, intended to support local circulation and overnight recovery. Mineral-infused Celliant® fibers — converts body heat to infrared energy FDA-classified general wellness product (medical device, section 201(h)) Same Sleep Recovery Technology used across the Bear lineup Celliant® Infrared FDA General Wellness Quilted Top 🛌 Layer Two Extra Quilt Foam The Pro Foam's defining layer — an additional quilt foam layer that the Bear Original doesn't have. Quilt foam is engineered for soft surface contact: it cushions and cradles your joints the moment you lie down, before the deeper memory foam layer activates. For side sleepers especially, this matters — the shoulder and hip make contact with the surface first and bear the most concentrated pressure. Extra quilt foam lets you settle in without feeling the firmer support layers below. Extra cushioning at first contact — relieves tension on shoulders and hips Adaptive foam that shapes to body contours immediately Key differentiator vs. Bear Original — softer initial feel Helps side sleepers settle into position faster Extra Quilt Foam Side-Sleeper Friendly Surface Cushioning ❄️ Layer Three Gel Swirl Memory Foam Soothing memory foam infused with cooling gel beads. Memory foam handles the contouring — it's why the body feels cradled rather than pushed back. The downside of conventional memory foam is heat retention; gel swirl handles that. Gel beads draw heat away from contact points (shoulder, hip, lower back) and disperse it laterally so the surface stays cooler. The result: contouring memory foam without the trapped-heat penalty. Conforms to shoulders, hips, and lower back under load Gel-infused for active heat dispersion at pressure points Reduces the heat-retention issue common to traditional memory foam Slow-response feel — that's the layer doing the deep cradling Gel Memory Foam Body Contouring Cooling Gel 🛏️ Layer Four Responsive Comfort Foam A transition layer that prevents the quicksand feel some all-foam beds have. The responsive comfort foam sits between the slow-recovery memory foam and the high-density base. Its job is two-fold: add a slight bounce so you can shift positions through the night without fighting the mattress, and prevent your body from sinking deep enough to compress the foundation layer. It's also what holds the medium-firm rating honest — without this layer, the mattress would read much softer than 6.5/10 once the comfort foams compressed. Firmer foam with a slight bounce — supports easier repositioning Prevents excessive sinking into the foundation layer Reinforces the medium-firm feel across the comfort system Adds longevity by buffering the base from constant compression Transition Layer Anti-Sink Medium-Firm Feel 🏗️ Layer Five High-Density Foundation Foam Five inches of high-density foundation foam at the base — the layer that determines whether the mattress is still flat in five years. Base foam is what fails first in budget mattresses; under-spec'd density compresses unevenly and creates body-shaped impressions that pull the spine out of alignment. The Pro Foam uses high-density foundation foam built to resist that pattern. This is the layer that makes the limited lifetime warranty viable against manufacturing defects in the foam structure. Five inches of high-density base foam — primary structural layer Holds the mattress flat over years of nightly compression cycles Promotes neutral spinal alignment by resisting body-shaped sag Backed by the Bear Limited Lifetime Warranty High-Density Foam Sag Resistant Lifetime Warranty Dimensions & Delivery Seven sizes. 12 inches tall. Answers to what most buyers ask before ordering the Pro Foam. What's the difference between the Pro Foam and the Bear Original? + Both are all-foam mattresses with the same Celliant® cover and the same firmness rating (6.5–7/10, medium-firm). Key difference: the Pro Foam adds an extra quilt foam layer at the surface, which delivers more cushioning at the contact points where pressure builds up. The Pro Foam is also 12" tall vs. the Original's 10". Choose the Pro Foam if: you're a side sleeper, you have shoulder or hip pain, or the Bear Original feels too firm at the surface. Choose the Original if: you're a back sleeper, you don't have specific pressure-point issues, or you want the most affordable Bear at-home recovery experience. What's the difference between the Pro Foam and the Pro Hybrid? + The difference is the support system. The Pro Foam is all foam — same comfort layers as the Pro Hybrid (extra quilt foam, gel memory foam, responsive comfort foam) but with a high-density foundation foam base instead of coils. The Pro Hybrid swaps that base for an individually wrapped coil system. What you gain with coils: deeper support and durability over time, a more responsive feel that's easier to move on, and better airflow for cooler sleep. What you give up: the close-contouring all-foam feel and the strongest motion isolation. Pick the Pro Foam if you want the all-foam feel with maximum pressure relief; pick the Pro Hybrid if you want hybrid responsiveness and airflow. What makes the Pro Foam best for pressure relief? + Three layers working in sequence. The extra quilt foam at the surface adds immediate softness and cushioning — it shapes around the joints on contact, before the deeper memory foam layer activates. The gel swirl memory foam below it contours to the body's curves and redistributes weight away from the highest-pressure zones (shoulders, hips, lower back). And the high-density foundation below holds everything in proper alignment so your spine stays neutral. The result is more thorough surface-level pressure relief than the Bear Original delivers — specifically the difference side sleepers and people with shoulder or hip sensitivity tend to notice. How firm is the Pro Foam? + The Pro Foam sits at 6.5 to 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale — medium-firm, the same rating as the Bear Original. The difference is what the surface feels like getting there: the Pro Foam's extra quilt foam means the first inch or two of contact feels noticeably softer than the Original, even though the overall support is the same. Best fit for back sleepers, side sleepers, and combination sleepers. Strict stomach sleepers and sleepers over 230 lbs typically want firmer; the Bear Elite Hybrid in the Firm option may be a better choice for those cases. What kind of bed base or foundation do I need? + A firm, flat, sturdy foundation. Compatible: a platform bed, a slatted frame with slats spaced less than 5.5 inches apart, a foundation, or an adjustable base. Not compatible: a traditional box spring, or any frame with slats spaced wider than 5.5 inches — the foam will sag through the gaps over time and may void the warranty. The all-foam construction is fully compatible with adjustable bases for bending positions. What's included in the 120-night sleep trial? + 120 nights of in-home use. Bear requires a 30-night break-in period before initiating a return — this is standard for foam mattresses, which feel different in the first couple weeks while the body adjusts and the foam fully decompresses. After night 30 and before night 120, email returns@bearmattress.com to start a return. Bear arranges pickup at no cost and issues a full refund. Past 120 nights, the limited lifetime warranty kicks in for manufacturing defects. Is the Pro Foam HSA/FSA eligible? + Yes — Bear partners with Truemed for HSA/FSA eligibility on qualifying customers. If you have a qualifying medical condition where a mattress upgrade is supported (chronic back pain, sleep disorders, certain inflammatory conditions, etc.), you may be able to use pre-tax HSA/FSA funds. Truemed runs the qualification during checkout. Customers typically save around 30% by paying with pre-tax dollars. Eligibility depends on individual medical circumstances. Who is the Pro Foam right for? + Best for: sleepers in need of enhanced pressure relief for achy muscles and joints; couples who prefer an all-foam feel with low motion transfer; side sleepers and combination sleepers; anyone who tried the Bear Original and wanted more surface cushioning. Less ideal for: sleepers who want the responsive, lifted feel of a hybrid mattress with coils (consider the Pro Hybrid or Elite Hybrid); strict stomach sleepers (most prefer firmer beds); sleepers heavier than around 230 lbs who want maximum edge support and durability — the Elite Hybrid or Pro Hybrid in Firm is generally a better fit. Where is the Pro Foam made? + Bear mattresses are assembled in the USA from foreign and domestic components, at Bear's facility in Arizona. The Pro Foam is GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low chemical emissions, uses CertiPUR-US® certified foam (verified free of formaldehyde, ozone depleters, prohibited phthalates, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals), and meets federal mattress flammability regulations (16 CFR 1633 and 1632) without using fiberglass.
