Beaded Mohair Scarf Using Lace-Weight Mohair

The Design “Like raindrops on a gossamer web.” Tiny glass beads sit like raindrops on the gossamer web of this simple garter-stitch scarf. Lacy loops at the edges are created as you go with a yarn-over at the beginning of each row. But the real secret to the beauty of this piece is in the finishing. Slip blocking wires through each edge loop and steam press gently—transformation! See how we've used this pattern! The Details FINISHED SIZE Approx. 12½"/32cm x 60"/152cm, after blocking. Errata & Clarification KNITTER'S NOTES Even if you've never thought of yourself as a 'bead' person, consider including them in this scarf. The beading pattern is as understated as it gets and, with their tiny bit of extra weight, the beads make this light-as-a-feather scarf a bit easier to wear. When knitting lace-weight mohair yarn, we prefer pointier needles over blunt. While none of the knitting maneuvers called for in the pattern are difficult, we like the extra bit of control and precision you get with a pointy needle.
