Bayonet Bone File

Bayonet Bone File A bone file is a surgical instrument used to smoothen, shape, and remove bone tissue during orthopedic procedures. It typically consists of a handle and a metal blade with teeth. The bayonet shank design refers to the way the blade angles relative to the handle, resembling a bayonet knife. Here are some details and variations of bayonet bone files: Blade type: Bone files can have different blade shapes, such as flat or half-round. Half-round blades are commonly used for shaping bone contours, while flat blades are better suited for smoothing bone surfaces. Teeth: The coarseness of the teeth on the blade determines the aggressiveness of the file. Fine teeth are used for finishing and smoothing, while coarse teeth are used for faster removal of bone material. Handle: The handle can be hexagonal, like some finger grips, or bayonet shaped, which is angled relative to the blade. Bone files are sterile surgical instruments and are typically used in a hospital or surgical center setting by surgeons during orthopedic procedures. They are not intended for home use. Here are some additional things to consider: Price: The price of a bayonet bone file can vary depending on the manufacturer, size, and features. Based on my findings, they typically range from $148 to $230. Availability: Bone files are medical supplies and can be purchased from medical supply stores or veterinary equipment distributors.
