Batman: The Adventures Continue #4A (DC Comics 2020)

Batman: The Adventures Continue #4A expands Gotham’s supernatural threat landscape, written by DC animation veterans Alan Burnett and Paul Dini with interior pencils by Ty Templeton and a distinct James Harren alternate cover. This 32‑page, full‑color single issue (Rated T+) continues the publisher’s crossover event centered on Azrael and the Church of St. Dumas. The narrative tracks the Sword of Azrael as it hunts a stolen ecclesiastical artifact, forcing a jurisdictional clash with Batman over which hero controls the artifact's fallout. Parallel scenes investigate the Shawl of Madelyn, detailing how multiple factions pursue its rumored resurrection properties while operating across Gotham's underground networks. Why Readers Select the #4A Print Run The #4A identifier denotes the James Harren cover variant distributed alongside the regular edition. Buyers choosing this specific printing receive Harren’s high‑contrast exterior illustration paired with Ty Templeton’s interior inking, creating two distinct visual experiences within a standard American‑size comic format. Both variants ship unbound and flexible, fitting universal poly bags, Mylar sleeves, and cardboard backing boards without trimming required. Established Story Continuity: Burnett and Dini maintain character dialogue and thematic pacing recognizable to fans of earlier Batman animated programming. Crossover Progression: This issue functions as a direct sequel link within the broader Azrael publication arc, rewarding sequential collectors. Budget‑Friendly Format: Originating at a $3.99 cover price with consistent page length, the issue aligns with standard monthly subscription intervals and shelf organization systems. Purchase this variant when you require Harren’s exclusive cover artwork combined with Templeton’s interior layout, rather than acquiring a standard cover run or awaiting collected volume releases.
