Batman: The Adventures Continue #1A (DC Comics 2020)

Batman: The Adventures Continue #1A delivers the first print expansion of the original Batman: The Animated Series timeline, written directly by the franchise’s architects Paul Dini and Alan Burnett. Unlike modern reinterpretations or universe-reboots, this issue maintains strict continuity with the 1990s cartoon while introducing a dedicated comic storyline. Wayne Enterprises becomes the target of a heavily armored automated assault when a giant theft unit infiltrates the company laboratories and removes an entire secured floor. As Batman investigates the breach, he must track mechanical footprints through Gotham to stop the siege while investigating why Lex Luthor has suddenly established operations in the city. Ty Templeton handles interior artwork, emphasizing clean panel layouts and clear spatial geography necessary for pacing a detective thriller, while Dave Johnson illustrates the cover. The release follows a standard monthly periodical format with thirty-two printed pages in full color. Writers: Paul Dini and Alan Burnett Interior Artist: Ty Templeton Cover Artist: Dave Johnson Page Count: 32 Format: Full color Content Rating: T+ Readers evaluating multiple DC releases will notice this book avoids team-ups and alternate realities, choosing instead to isolate Batman against a single coordinated tech threat. That narrowed focus makes the issue an efficient starting point for collectors tracking the animated universe's canonical history or buyers seeking a self-contained mystery before diving into subsequent chapters.
