Batman: Europa #1A (DC Comics 2015)

Secure the opening issue of a highly requested continental crossover with Batman: Europa #1A, published by DC Comics in 2015 with a script by Brian Azzarello and Matteo Casali, interior art by Giuseppe Camuncoli, and cover work by Jim Lee. This forty-page, full-color release establishes a tight, self-contained thriller that diverges from traditional Gotham City storytelling by relocating the narrative across multiple European locations. The central conflict revolves around a fast-acting, incurable virus that leaves Batman near death, forcing him to seek help from the only person capable of synthesizing a cure: The Joker. Their uneasy alliance drives a suspenseful storyline where former rivals must coordinate border-to-border movement to decode a biological conspiracy before the pathogen takes hold. Azzarello and Casali structure the chapter around escalating chase beats and location-specific clues, while Camuncoli’s panel layouts maintain clear spatial geography throughout the journey.
