Sweet Basil Leaf CO₂ Wax (Ocimum basilicum)

Ocimum basilicum, or Sweet Basil, has been cherished for thousands of years in Mediterranean and Ayurvedic traditions for its refreshing scent and therapeutic power. Its name derives from the Greek basileus, meaning “king,” reflecting its royal status among aromatic herbs. Through supercritical CO₂ extraction, basil leaves are gently processed using carbon dioxide under controlled temperature and pressure. This modern, solvent-free method captures both the aromatic essential oil fractions (rich in linalool, methyl chavicol, and eugenol) and non-volatile waxes and lipids, resulting in a complete, full-spectrum extract. Unlike distilled basil oil, which emphasizes only volatile top notes, the CO₂ wax embodies the entire essence of the leaf, including its creamy base and soft green undertones. The extract appears as a semi-solid aromatic wax, smooth in texture, rich in color, and entirely free from petrochemical residues. Basil Leaf CO₂ Wax, derived from the fragrant leaves of Ocimum basilicum, is a vibrant, aromatic wax obtained through supercritical CO₂ extraction. This unique process captures the plant’s full aromatic and biochemical complexity—combining the volatile essential oil molecules with non-volatile wax esters, antioxidants, and phytosterols. The result is a semi-solid, greenish-gold wax with a rich, spicy-herbaceous aroma that is both energizing and soothing. It carries the pure essence of freshly crushed basil leaves—sweet, peppery, and slightly anise-like—while delivering exceptional cosmetic and aromatic benefits. Used in natural perfumery, skincare, and aromatherapy, Basil CO₂ Wax represents the perfect synergy of botanical vitality, purity, and performance.
