MBE Decoded: Multistate Bar Exam, Second Edition

MBE Decoded, Second Edition, by Mary Basick & Tina Schindler is a comprehensive bar preparation book that provides MBE rules as well as tips and strategies on how the rules are tested, how to avoid distractor decoy answers, and how to study effectively for the MBE portion of the bar exam. MBE Decoded provides the rules in a concise, easily manageable and understandable format. The authors thoroughly analyzed every released MBE question to identify common testing patterns, note heavily tested topics, and provide tips and strategies on distractor decoy answers to help students avoid selecting the wrong answers. The introductory chapter walks students through HOW to solve MBE questions, which alone can improve an applicant’s MBE scores simply by approaching the questions in an effective and efficient manner. The other chapters cover each MBE-tested subject and aid in memorization and understanding of the tested rules. The book encompasses both strategies and substantive rules for students to properly engage with the material when completing practice MBE questions. For maximum effect, this book should be used in conjunction with a full practice question bank.  New to the Second Edition:  Updated black letter law rules for all MBE-tested subjects with key terms bolded.  Updated visual flow charts and rule decoded charts to help applicants understand how difficult rules are tested and how they interrelate.  Updated identification of the most frequently tested MBE rules.  Updated subject-specific memorization cheat sheets.  Updated examples based on real MBE questions of how rules are tested.  Professors and students will benefit from:  Clear and concise MBE black letter law outlines with key terms bolded.  MBE tips to improve accuracy and understanding of how the rules apply and don’t apply (to avoid selecting decoy answers).  Examples based on real released MBE questions, which illustrate how the rules are tested.  Decoy tips for nuanced rules that applicants often answer incorrectly.  Strategies on HOW to solve MBE questions, HOW to effectively study, and HOW to memorize rules.  Bullet point memorization cheat sheets.  Visual charts to aid in rule understanding and memorization.  Guided MBE walkthrough question deconstructions for each subject, with 10 sample questions per subject.  Troubleshooting tips to improve scores and accuracy.
