Basalt Naturals Base

Basalt Naturals Base is a 3/4 minus crushed basalt base designed specifically for wet areas. This angular, durable aggregate delivers a stable sub-base that promotes excellent drainage and solid support for pavers, slabs, and other hardscape installations. Priced by the cubic yard, we accommodate every project—no amount is too small to get your job moving. What makes Basalt Naturals Base stand out 3/4 minus size distribution: a well-graded mix that settles quickly and compacts evenly, minimizing voids for a more dependable foundation. Natural basalt durability: resistant to crushing under load and capable of withstanding freeze–thaw cycles, keeping surfaces flatter longer. Exceptional drainage: coarse, angular grains channel water away, reducing puddling in damp conditions. Ideal for wet-area applications: engineered to stay stable where moisture is present, helping prevent shifting and heave. Ideal uses and scenarios Use Basalt Naturals Base as the foundational layer under permeable paver systems, concrete slabs, flagstone patios, or other hardscape projects in areas with moisture. It’s especially valuable around landscaping beds, irrigation lines, or anywhere you need reliable drainage and a solid, long-lasting base to support foot and vehicle traffic. Simple installation tips Prepare the site by removing organic matter and achieving a clean, level surface with an appropriate drainage slope. Spread Basalt Naturals Base in even lifts, then lightly moisten to reach optimal moisture for compaction. Compact with a plate compactor until the base is uniformly dense and free of soft spots. Install your surface layer (pavers, concrete, or other) once the base is stable and properly compacted. Pricing and availability Sold by the cubic yard, Basalt Naturals Base is priced per CU.
