Barreto 712MTH MICRO TRENCHER

Barreto 712MTH MICRO TRENCHER WHY BARRETO? DESIGN The 712MTH micro trencher features a unique automatic wheel drive propulsion system. This trencher utilizes a load sensing hydraulic valve to adjust the trenching wheel speed to the load on the digging chain. When the load on the digging chain increases, the sensing valve sends less oil to the wheel drive motor and the wheel speed will automatically slow down. When the load on the digging chain decreases, the sensing valve sends more oil to the wheel drive motor and the wheel drive speed will automatically increase. This keeps a constant load on the engine, regardless of the depth of cut or differing soil conditions. Not only does this help the trencher run at optimal efficiency, it reduces stress on the components, increasing their longevity. CONTROLS The automatic adjustment to the wheel speed eliminates the responsibility on the operator to constantly adjust their wheel speed. Nothing could be easier for the novice user. One control lever operates the wheel drive, and one lever operates the chain drive. After engaging the chain drive lever, the operator just engages the wheel drive lever and lets the trencher do the work. When the wheel drive is in forward, the chain drive will not activate, eliminating costly repairs sometimes caused by inexperienced operators. ROI Small trenchers can become one of your leading revenue sources. With a unique design that provides limited need for maintenance and repair, the 712MTH will keep going out into the field time and again without sitting in the shop waiting for repair. FEATURES All-hydraulic design is low maintenance and efficient Free-wheeling hubs unlock to transport without starting the engine Automatic wheel drive system adjusts wheel speed to conditions Hydraulics are easily accessed for maintenance and repair Simple controls are easy to learn and easy to operate SPECIFICATIONS ENGINE:  Honda GX200 DETAILS: Length: 71.25″ Width: 30.5″ Height: 43″ Wheel Base: 25.25″ Weight: 400 lbs. Key Specifications Here’s a breakdown of the core specifications for the Barreto 712MTH Engine: Honda GX200, 5.5 HP Weight: Approx. 400 lbs Dimensions: 71.25″ L × 30.5″ W × 43″ H Wheelbase: 25.25″ Hydraulic Reservoir: 1.5 gallons Forward Speed: ~148 ft/min; Reverse: ~23 ft/min Digging Chain Speed: ~200 ft/min Boom Depth Options: 12″ or 18″ Chain Width: 3.5″ or 4.5″ trench width Standout Features 1. Automatic Load‑Sensing Drive System The load‑sensing hydraulic valve adjusts wheel drive based on chain load, ensuring consistent engine rpm and reducing operator fatigue. You don’t have to constantly throttle up or down. 2. Precision Boom & Chain Options With adjustable trench depths (12″ or 18″) and chain widths (3.5″ or 4.5″), this trencher provides the flexibility you need for conduit, irrigation, landscape lighting, or gas line installation. 3. Walk‑Behind or Stand‑On Operation Two operating modes—walk behind for control or stand-on for visibility—ensures comfort and convenience for long shifts or detailed work. 4. Compact Footprint, Big Access At just 30.5″ wide, the 712MTH fits easily through narrow gates, tight yards, or constrained job sites where larger trenchers won’t fit. 5. Rental‑Grade Durability Built to endure daily use, Barreto designed this trencher for high uptime, with rugged hydraulics and user‑serviceable parts. Ideal Applications The Barreto 712MTH Micro Trencher is ideal for jobs that require tight‑space precision: Landscape installation: burying drip irrigation, wireless sensors, or lighting cables Utility work: narrow conduit runs for gas, cable, or telecom Residential projects: clean trenching along fences and driveways Irrigation systems: consistent depth trenching for tubing or pipe Its compact design and hydraulic responsiveness make it perfect for jobs where accuracy matters. How to Operate the Barreto 712MTH: Best Practices To get the most out of this micro trencher: Ensure proper chain tension before starting each job. Select the appropriate trench depth and chain width for the application. Engage the load‑sensing drive when trenching begins—the machine automatically regulates speed. Use steady forward motion to maintain consistent depth. Clean dirt and debris from the boom and chain after use to prevent buildup. Regularly check hydraulic oil level and air filter, especially after dusty jobs. This ensures consistent performance and fewer service interruptions. Maintenance for Longevity For a trencher that’s part of a rental fleet or used daily, its longevity depends on proper care: Hydraulic fluid & filter: change per manufacturer interval Inspect chain teeth regularly and replace worn cutters promptly Grease pivot points to prevent wear and maintain smooth motion Clean air filter frequently in dusty soil conditions Store upright and dry when not in use to avoid corrosion Barreto’s design facilitates routine inspections and simplifies serviceability.
