Get ready for a wild ride! One of notorious Eurosleaze auteur Jess Franco and producer Erwin C. Dietrich's most shocking films,1976's Barbed Wire Dolls is the ultimate unholy “Women-in-Prison” exploitation opus. In it, Franco favorite and lifelong muse Lina Romay (Doriana Gray, Rolls Royce Baby) stars as the wide-eyed Maria, an unfortunate young woman who kills her father (played by Franco in a delirious flashback sequence) in self defense after he attempts to rape her. She is tried, sentenced and shipped off to what is perhaps the grisliest, greasiest and most depraved women’s penitentiary in screen history where, at the hands, fingers and fists of psychotic lesbian warden Monica Swinn (The Duke of Burgundy, Female Vampire), she and her fellow inmates are subjected to an endless onslaught of perverse psychological and sexual abuse.  Filled to the gills with sex, Sapphic erotica, copious amounts of female nudity and offensively staged scenes of genital humiliation, this sleazy Franco masterpiece will rattle your cage in the sweetest way... directed by: Jess Franco starring: Lina Romay, Monica Swinn, Paul Muller, Roger Darton, Eric Falk 1976 / 79 min / 1.85:1 / English, German DTS-HD MA 5.1, 2.0 Additional info: Region A Blu-ray COMMENTARY BY DELIRIUM MAGAZINE COLUMNIST DENNIS DANIEL TRAILER REEL INTERVIEW: DIRECTOR PETER STRICKLAND ON THE FILMS OF JESS FRANCO SISTERS IN THE SLAMMER: THE WOMEN IN PRISON FILMS OF JESS FRANCO INTERVIEW: JESS FRANCO, LINA ROMAY and ERWIN C.
