Baptisia australis False Indigo

Baptisia australis False Indigo is an eastern U.S. native with bold spikes of violet-blue, pea-like flowers in the late spring, followed by unique black seed pods. Baptisia is a great alternative to Lupine for warmer climates. Baptisia australis False Indigo is drought tolerant once established due to its extensive root system. It should not be disturbed once established, so choose a good, sunny location to be its home. It can be cut back after blooming to maintain a tidy appearance and to prevent self-sowing. Baptisia australis False Indigo would be a great addition to cottage and pollinator gardens!
