Balloon Monkey Orange

Jeff Koons - Balloon Monkey Orange The work by Jeff Koons Balloon Monkey is a porcelain glazed sculpture, in a limited edition of 999 pieces. The work measures 15.3x10 in. and comes with a certificate of authenticity.  The Jeff Koons Celebration series welcomes his iconic sculptures, balloons in the shape of monkeys, Venuses, rabbits, swans and small dogs. Their apparent lightness, the chosen subjects and their bright colors take us back to childhood and its long-awaited birthday parties.  The original Jeff Koons Balloon Monkey sculpture, made of mirror-polished stainless steel and finished with a clear coating in five unique versions - yellow, red, blue, orange and magenta - weighs nearly five tons and is more than 12 feet long.  Balloon Monkey touches on the universal themes of pleasure-seeking, sexuality and innocence that characterize humans' close kinship with primates and have always fascinated the artist. Through the use of a reflective surface, the viewer does not feel intimidated by the work, instead seeing himself reflected in it as its integral and essential part.
