DUBAIS is the Arabfuturist, lo-fi, dark disco project of Nadia Buyse. Nadia is a trans-disciplinary international performance artist, cultural activist, and musician (and former Olympia resident). Using the tropes of Pop music, DUBAIS make conceptual critiques about displacement, Utopia, diaspora, and the post identity complex. She utilizes multimedia strategies like live and pre-taped video, digital composition, dance and movement, with an emphasis, or rather a particular fascination with, consumer products like cell phones and lo-fi recordings. Track listing: I Don't Want to Die (I'm Going to Kill You) I'm No Good (featuring Hell Books) All songs written by Nadia Buyse; "I'm No Good" music composed by Chris Sutton (C.O.C.O., Hornet Leg, Dub Narcotic Sound System, Spider and the Webs) aka Hell Books. Mastered by Martin Siewert. Cover art by Casey Brown. Layout by Patrick Anthofer.
