This journey began in early 2017 and led us to the unique Baco Noir grape, introduced to us by Chris, a dedicated vineyard owner and farmer from Millennium Vineyard. Crafted with History and Innovation: The Baco Noir Legacy: Baco Noir, a resilient grape developed in the late 1800s by French researcher Francois Baco, is a hybrid of the high-acid Folle Blanche and the American Grand Glabre. This historical variety has been expertly cultivated by Chris in his cool climate vineyard, just 50 miles from our distillery. Distinctive Flavor Profile: Our Baco No. 1 Brandy is crafted from 100% Baco Noir, resulting in a brandy with rich, spicy undertones of nutmeg and cinnamon. The distillate is aged for a minimum of three years in a blend of ex-wine, sherry, and barley wine barrels, ensuring a complex and refined flavor.
