Common Questions About the Backun BCLBBETA-SK How does the Backun Beta fit within the Backun clarinet lineup? The Beta sits above entry-level synthetic student clarinets as a wooden step-up model for advancing players. It is intended for students who need a more mature sound and response while remaining below Backun's professional Q Series, Essence, MoBa, and Lumière models. What does the grenadilla body offer an advancing clarinetist? Grenadilla is widely used for wooden clarinets because it supports a focused, resonant tone and a more refined response than most synthetic student instruments. For a developing player, that can make tone production, dynamic shading, and ensemble blending more rewarding. Is the Beta a good choice for a player moving up from a beginner clarinet? Yes. The Beta is designed for players moving beyond entry-level equipment who want a wooden Bb clarinet for lessons, school ensembles, and continued musical development without immediately moving to a professional model.
