Backcountry Shovel

The Backcountry Shovel is engineered for fast deployment with robust construction to perform in emergency avalanche situations. In a chaotic environment where seconds matter, intuitive features allow for quick, self-locking deployment so you don’t have to fuss with small buttons. The aggressive blade is designed to efficiently cut into snow and easily switches between digging (shovel) position and chopping (hoe) position. A more compact size also allows the Backcountry Shovel to fit in a wider range of avalanche backpacks.  Assembled Length - 90.6cm Blade Length - 30.3cm L x 24.1cm W Packed Shaft Length - 49.3cm Extended Shaft Length - 71.9cm Weight - 940g FULL SPECS FAST, DURABLE AVALANCHE SHOVEL WITH INTEGRATED CHOP/HOE MODE QUICK-DEPLOY SELF-LOCKING SYSTEM FOR SPEED UNDER STRESS FLARED BUTTON ENTRY AND SPRING BUTTONS FOR QUICK DEPLOYMENT EGG-PROFILED SHAFT FOR GRIP AND CONTROL, AVOIDS SPINNING IN HAND EGG-PROFILED SHAFT MAKES ASSEMBLY EASIER CHISEL EDGED SHOVEL BLADE FOR CUTTING SNOW AND REDUCED DEFLECTION D-HANDLE FOR STRONGEST HAND GRIP POSITION TPU GRIPS ON SHAFT AND HANDLE CONVERTS FROM SHOVEL TO CHOPPING MODE (HOE MODE) DEADMAN ANCHOR HOLES TO MAKE SNOW ANCHOR 6061-T6 ALUMINUM SHAFT AND BLADE FOR LIGHTWEIGHT DURABILITY DURABLE MATTE POWDER COATED BLADE DURABLE ANODIZED ALUMINUM HANDLE/SHAFT COMPACT FOR EASIER STORAGE, MORE COMPATIBLE W/ MORE BACKPACKS
