The foundation of this shock is Bilstein's innovative ZoneControl CR technology, which is designed to sense the position of the shock and respond automatically with ideal damping. This means a smooth ride on the pavement and more control when you head well off the beaten path. The shock's Dual Speed Adjustability (DSA) is another standout feature, allowing precise control over the shock’s compression for both low and high-speed scenarios. This technology uses click adjusters that make it easy to tailor the suspension to your driving needs. For example, in low-speed settings, you can keep things softer for comfort on uneven city streets. When you switch to high-speed settings, the shock stiffens to maintain control over fast-paced dips and rises on off-road trails. This gives you complete control right at your fingertips with the simple twist of a knob. Triple Piston Design with Ride Height Adjustment At the heart of this shock absorber is Bilstein's unique triple-piston design that enables three stages of compression and two stages of rebound damping. Each piston stage serves a specific purpose, from handling small, everyday bumps to managing significant impacts on rough terrain. This layered approach allows the shock to handle varying levels of force, maintaining a smooth ride in regular conditions while keeping control in challenging ones. Adding to this capability, an internal hydraulic bump is built in to prevent damage from harsh, sudden compressions by absorbing excess force during heavy impacts. The B8 8112 also features ride height adjustability, allowing you to lift your Bronco up to three inches for extra ground clearance. This feature is easily accessible through the threaded spring seat, letting you adjust the suspension height without hassle.
